Welcome to Ciudad del Adiós

Olá amigos,

Welcome to Ciudad del Adiós ("Good-bye City"). After more than two years in this tiny-great country, the time has come for us to say adiós. These years have been full of great moments that will remain in our memories forever. For this reason we believe that there is only one possible way to say goodbye: an epic party!

We are doing our best to organize Ciudad del Adiós, the party where the kool meets the gang, a place where Ipanema sandals mix with uzi guns, and the only venue where you can be listening to the Jackson Five and one minute later you can be singing with them in a Karaoke machine.

Check the website, subscribe for the party in the Guests-List and see you next Saturday!

Karaoke

Even though Ciudad del Adiós is characterized by the finest selection of tunes that will be played during the party, at the end of the night there will be room for those of you who want to 'share' your talent with us.
We have arranged a karaoke machine. Check here the available songs, pick a classic and put your name among the karaoke legends!

Jupiler me up!

Thanks to the guys from Sint-Jansbrug, there will be at least 100l. of Jupiler lager ready for pouring in our house's beer tap.
I would like to thank Lennard and Michiel (my housemates) for their help and for getting us a good price (€200).

Guest List

Dear friend,

If you made it to this page it probably means that you belong to the very exclusive community of guests invited to our farewell party. We want this party to be very, very special; therefore we will only invite people that have shared with us special moments during these years in Delft. To avoid an overcrowded party and to arrange the logistics, we will work on a guests-list basis.

If you have been personally invited -by email, via facebook, or in person- to come to our party, and you AGREE with the Money-business and the Dressing-code, subscribe to this Guests List before Friday by posting a message as follows:

1) Click on 'COMMENTS #' at the bottom of this post.
2) Leave a message with your name and your preferences (Just want a beer (free) / I'm in for cocktails, & surprises! (€5-€10))
3) Fill the Word Verification field
4) Input username = ciudadios.user and password = ciudadios.pass and click on "Publish your comment"

After that you can consider yourself in for the party. Stay put on this website for the latest news!

Money business

After thinking it over and over, Scarlett and me have concluded that our pockets are not deep enough to fund the entire party. Therefore we have decided to explain the money business crystal clear so that you -the guests- understand the situation.

In principle we thought about celebrating this party at a bar in Delft. That would cost us €150, the guests would pay for the drinks, and the stuff would clean the place next morning. But everybody knows that a random bar is not as special as JvB73 when it comes to epic parties.

Therefore we have decided to invest the €150 in other things (drinks, games, and some surprises). Obviously, that money is not enough to hidrate 70 thirsty throats, and for that reason we expect you to contribute with some money.

So, this is what we will do. We are investing another €450 on the party, which makes a total of €600. We estimate that if everybody contributes with €5 to €10, then we will get those €450 back, in other words, the party would costs us €150 (as planned). Let's put it this way: instead of spending that money on a gift, think of yourself having a blast as our best present!

So next Saturday when you get to the party, the first thing you do is looking for Iñaki or Scarlett who will kindly give you an identificative present after you put your contribution in a black box.

PS: For those people showing up just to say good-bye, don't worry, you are always invited to a beer!

Dressing code: City of God

To make this party even more special we request our guests to dress appropriately for the occasion.

Even though Brazilian gangs of 70s might seem a very specific theme, after reading the following paragraphs you'll undestand that most of the attrezzo is already in your wardrobe.

For instance, here you have an easy-to-fit style:

As you can see, a random cheap T-shirt with the sleeves properly rolled up can make you look like an authentic Fabela bad boy. Some shiny neckless/rings and a pair of shabby jeans would complete your cheap look.

Nevertheless, if you want to get to the next level you may consider dressing in Corcobado style (a.k.a. 'King of the hill'):

The hawaiian shirt guarantees the attention of the hotties. The blond hair is a must; for the Dutchies this should be easy; for the rest you can consider dying.

But if you really want to make the difference, here you have two outstanding looks:

A 'funky mormon' or a 'disco farmer', eitherway you'll stand out over the rest. Note that the coolness of these styles is enforced when surrounded by equals, so team up with your friends/housemates and be the kool of the gangs.

Hereafter some inspiration for the music lovers:

A white shirt, and a curly hair wig will make it all. You don't even need to be black (e.g. Michael Jackson).

Finally, if you want to recycle and old costume (this is a green party); here you have a hint: Kight rider & Webster, an epic couple. A black leather jacket and pair of tight pants will do to look like Sir Michael Knight (a black shirt wide open showing some chest hair is a must).

Well, as you see there are many easy ways to get fully equiped for the party. Just remember this keywords: disco, funk, cheap, shabby, gang, curly, ipanema sandals, jeans, retro.

Due to the weather conditions, guests can dress up in the house (party venue).

Just a last hint, for those of you who don't know where to get this kind of stuff, you can check this 2nd hand shop:

Cheap Fashion
Meent 25, Rotterdam

The have really cool stuff there for as low as 5eu.
